The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shackleford moves out of range as Brooks strikes.
Brooks throws a lazy uppercut
letting Shackleford counter with a right hand.
Reginald Brooks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shackleford gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Brooks.
Brooks misses with a hook
and Shackleford counters with a stiff right hand.
Shackleford uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Brooks.
Brooks throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Shackleford counters with a crisp right hand that drops Brooks! Shackleford lets Brooks back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Shackleford feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Brooks sprawling to the canvas! Brooks rolls over backwards and springs off the ropes and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Shackleford finish him?!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Brooks lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Shackleford circles away quickly and effectively.
Brooks is looking to chop away at Shackleford's legs.
Shackleford has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Brooks throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Brooks connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Shackleford takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Shackleford connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Brooks ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Brooks fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Shackleford, pushing him back against the ropes.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shackleford's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Brooks takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Brooks swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
It seemed like Shackleford was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Brooks thumps Shackleford with a low kick.
Shackleford lands a big uppercut and Brooks crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Brooks looks OK. Shackleford waves Brooks back to his feet!
Brooks throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Shackleford.

Shackleford cracks Brooks with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Brooks looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Shackleford finish him?
Brooks connects with a crisp jab.
Shackleford drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Brooks right on the button. Brooks goes down! Shackleford follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Shackleford gets the win via TKO!
