Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sultan Yusupov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chris Robertson!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Daniel Franklin and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yusupov clinches.
Yusupov is trying to pull guard but Robertson has him pressed against the cage.
Yusupov jumps guard but Robertson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Yusupov manages to pull guard.

Yusupov is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Robertson is aware though and is defending well.

Yusupov working for a triangle but Robertson defends it easily.
Robertson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Yusupov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Robertson defends it easily.
Robertson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Robertson stands up from Yusupov's guard - Robertson perhaps looking for a knockout.
Yusupov moves in looking to clinch but Robertson pushes him off.
Robertson throws a counter combo.

Robertson gets a takedown into half guard.
Robertson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Yusupov knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Yusupov is looking to improve his position.
Yusupov manages to get to full guard.

Yusupov is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Robertson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Robertson has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Temp Spar Gym. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Yusupov has his foot on Robertson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Robertson works his way back into a safe position though.

Robertson stands up and waves to Yusupov to follow him.

Robertson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Yusupov to the ground. Robertson is now in Yusupov's guard.

Robertson is posturing up here but Yusupov has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Robertson tries to roll out but it's too tight and Robertson has to tap! Slick submission there by Yusupov!
