Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paddy Fagan (ranked 1159 p4p, 142 weight class) and Long Thai (ranked 1997 p4p, 230 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Roberts and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Thai 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Fagan pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Thai back to the cage. Fagan follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Thai throws a low kick but Fagan moves out of range easily.
No joy there for Fagan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Thai lands with an uppercut that bounces Fagan off the cage and back into range.
Thai scores with a kick to the body.
Thai ducks under a wild hook from Fagan.
Thai raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Fagan swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Fagan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Thai sprawls well. Thai wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fagan gets slowly back to his feet.

Fagan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Fagan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Thai but Thai pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Fagan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Thai, who protects the arm well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Thai can do anything to dispel that myth.
Thai is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Fagan off and has taken his back!
Fagan wants to escape the position.
Thai is trying to stick to Fagan's back but Fagan is turning into Thai. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Thai's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Fagan.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Thai is on top in guard.
