The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Carioca counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Johnson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carioca gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Carioca is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Johnson sees it coming and defends easily.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Carioca working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Johnson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carioca can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Johnson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Carioca wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Carioca is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Johnson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Johnson is trying to get back to full guard.

Johnson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Carioca defends well.

Carioca wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.

Johnson isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Carioca stacks Johnson on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Carioca!

Carioca closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Johnson's guard.

Carioca is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Johnson has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Carioca is looking to defend but Johnson has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Carioca! Johnson pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Carioca taps out and this one is all over!
