Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marek Koltun (ranked 2729 p4p, 301 weight class) and Alastair Dunn (ranked 2217 p4p, 249 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 38 - 28 - 4, fighting out of Helsinki, Marek Koltun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alastair Dunn!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koltun fails to land the takedown.
Dunn feints a counter leg kick.
Dunn throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Koltun defending well as Dunn loads up on a big left hand.
A jab lands there for Dunn.
Koltun steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dunn.
Dunn lands with a cross.
Koltun is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Dunn looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Koltun looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A little jabbing left from Dunn on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Koltun feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dunn scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Dunn misses with a wild body shot.
Koltun feinted with a counter takedown.
Koltun takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Koltun shoots for a takedown but Dunn saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marek Koltun. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dunn scores with a decent looking hook.


It looks like Marek Koltun has been cut.
Koltun tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dunn swivels and escapes.
A little jabbing left from Dunn on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Dunn moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Koltun goes down! Can Dunn finish him!?


Koltun is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dunn trying to control but Koltun is working from the bottom.
Oh Koltun is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dunn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Koltun swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Koltun keeping moving, preventing Dunn from controlling successfully.
Koltun seems to have got his legs back now.
Koltun is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Dunn sitting in guard here, content to control.

Koltun has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dunn can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Koltun escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dunn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Dunn has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Koltun is proving hard to escape from.

Dunn is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Dunn slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Dunn trying to control the position but Koltun is working away.

Dunn stands up and we're back to a striking position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Koltun fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dunn to the ground. Koltun is now in Dunn's guard.
Koltun trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Dunn wants to stand but Koltun is controlling the position.

Dunn pushes Koltun off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Koltun dives in for a single leg takedown but Dunn sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Dunn throws out a counter right but Koltun avoids it with no problem.
Koltun fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alastair Dunn dominated that round.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Dunn has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Koltun has a takedown stuffed.
It seemed like Dunn was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

A nice side step and Dunn releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Koltun walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Koltun scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dunn is looking for a sweep. Koltun is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Koltun thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dunn's head.
Dunn gets back to full guard.
Dunn not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Dunn throws a jab but it's blocked by Koltun.
Koltun swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Dunn throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Koltun sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Koltun shoots in and drives through. Dunn sprawls well.

and Koltun counters with a straight right hand.

Dunn smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Koltun darts in looking for a takedown but Dunn gets double underhooks and turns Koltun into the cage.
Koltun looks for a takedown but Dunn sprawls well.
Koltun moves out of range of the strikes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Koltun fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dunn avoids it really well and circles away.

Horrible takedown attempt by Koltun or perhaps it was just good defense by Dunn, which made it look bad.
Koltun takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Alastair Dunn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Koltun shoots for a double leg takedown but Dunn sprawls well. He's pushed Koltun's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Dunn swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Dunn throws a hook to the side of Koltun's head but Koltun sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Koltun shoots in and drives through. Dunn sprawls well.
Koltun shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dunn as he jumps to the side.
Dunn throws out a counter right but Koltun avoids it with no problem.
Dunn bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Koltun's head.
Dunn stuffs the takedown attempt from Koltun. Koltun gets slowly back to his feet.
Dunn defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Koltun.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Koltun is defended easily by Dunn.
Dunn only half commits to the counter leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alastair Dunn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Koltun uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Dunn.

Dunn scores with a hook to the body. Koltun takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Dunn lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Koltun head around and knocks him out cold! Dunn hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Alastair Dunn!
Alastair Dunn seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
In defeat, Marek Koltun stepped up to the mic, saying 'My opponent was the better man tonight, but I will be back.'.
