The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roberts swings away with a body shot that misses

and Hongo counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Hongo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Hongo drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Roberts dives on top into guard.

Roberts tries to stand but Hongo is controlling from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hongo pulls Roberts in close to prevent any damage.
Roberts wants to get up but he can't break Hongo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Hongo has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Roberts must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
