The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hudson slips under a jab.
Hudson feints the counter takedown.
Hudson fails with a takedown attempt.
Hudson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A little feinted left hand from Sakuraba on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Hudson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sakuraba.
Sakuraba throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Hudson on the side of the head.
Sakuraba ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hudson moves away.
Sakuraba works the jab nicely.

Hudson is rocked!
Sakuraba cracks Hudson with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Hudson falls to his knees and Sakuraba doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hayato Sakuraba!
A relieved looking Hayato Sakuraba thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
