The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allen blocks a head kick by Brutus.
Brutus misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Allen.
Brutus tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Brutus throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Allen drops an elbow to the side of Brutus's head.
Brutus is trying to escape back to his feet but Allen uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Allen is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Brutus has escaped the position, nice work there.

Allen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Brutus takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Allen looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Allen looks up at the clock and then as Brutus takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Allen smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Allen in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Brutus is looking to get back to his feet here but Allen is keeping cool and he's managed to take Brutus's back.

Brutus is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet.
Allen could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Allen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Birger Brutus is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Allen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Brutus is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Allen gets his way!

Allen has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Brutus! Can he survive? No! He's out! Allen gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
