Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Morris Mccall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bruce Banner!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Leandro Rodrigues and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Banner does no damage.
Mccall tries to counter by clinching up but Banner breaks away and moves out of range.

Banner closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Banner lands in his opponent's guard.
Mccall is adopting a defensive guard.
Banner trying to control but Mccall is working from the bottom.
Banner is fighting to break Mccall's control of his arms but Mccall is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Banner stops Mccall from standing up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Banner landing some decent shots from guard.

Mccall has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Banner off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Banner forces Mccall back against the cage and clinches.

Mccall wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Banner breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Banner defending well as Mccall loads up on a big left hand.
No joy there for Mccall, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Banner with the counter takedown but Mccall avoids it easily.

Banner shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Banner was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Banner decides to take the fight back to the feet.

It looks like Morris Mccall has been cut.
Mccall misses with a wild combination.
Despite the aggression on Banner's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Banner looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Mccall has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Banner has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Banner prevents the takedown attempt.
Banner lands a damaging elbow.
Banner should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Mccall kicks Banner off and gets back to his feet.
Morris Mccall is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bruce Banner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Banner showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mccall.
Banner drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Mccall defends it well.

Mccall gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Mccall is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Banner presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Mccall is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Banner to keep the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Morris Mccall. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mccall is breathing heavily.

Banner ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Banner no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Mccall throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Banner bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mccall's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mccall lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Morris Mccall will probably get the nod.

Banner uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mccall.
Mccall swinging wildly here.
Mccall throws a nice looking combination but Banner bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Mccall lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Banner circles away quickly and effectively.
Mccall misses with a jab, cross combination.

Banner changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mccall looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mccall wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Mccall sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Banner is pressing down on Mccall's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mccall is holding on for now.

Banner looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Banner keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Mccall is looking for a sweep. Banner is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mccall gets full guard.
Banner not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Banner chips away with some ground and pound.
Banner controlling from the top position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Banner tries to stand but Mccall is controlling from the bottom.
Banner stops Mccall from standing up.
Mccall looking to control.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Banner pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mccall is keeping the position for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Mccall has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Banner rushes Mccall and presses him up against the cage.

Banner lands with a left to the head.
Banner's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Banner content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Banner lands a couple of digs.
Banner trying to control but Mccall is working from the bottom.

Banner throws a big right hand that misses.

Mccall scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Banner lands with an uppercut that bounces Mccall off the cage and back into range.

Banner shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mccall napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Banner moves into full mount!
Banner avoids the attempt from Mccall to control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Banner thuds his right hand into Mccall's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Mccall tries to sprawl but Banner drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Mccall manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Banner lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Mccall has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Mccall and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Mccall gets caught napping as Banner dives in and scores a takedown. Mccall manages to retain guard.
Banner must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mccall not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Banner wants to control from the top but Mccall keeps moving.
Mccall looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Banner makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Banner takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Mccall is pulling down on Banner's head to control his posture.
Banner missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Mccall wants to stand and escape but Banner is having none of it.
Mccall keeping moving, preventing Banner from controlling successfully.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Mccall bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Banner's guard.

Mccall postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Banner wants to sweep but no luck.
Mccall with a flurry of punches that miss.

Banner is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Mccall landing some decent shots from guard.

Banner utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Mccall drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Mccall seems to have locked his on tight now - Banner screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Mccall, as he picks up the win!
