PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Repa Tiitti (ranked 2213 p4p, 244 weight class) and Jon Snitch (ranked 2795 p4p, 293 weight class). Tiitti comes to the cage accompanied by AC/DC Back in Black . Snitch has chosen I Wanna Rock as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Repa Tiitti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Snitch!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tiitti tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Snitch was well out of range. Poor timing from Tiitti.
Jon Snitch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tiitti connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Snitch throws a series of punches but Tiitti moves out of range.
Snitch tries to land a front kick but Tiitti steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Snitch fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Tiitti on the side of the head.

Tiitti shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Snitch's guard.
Tiitti is looking to work some ground and pound but Snitch has wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Snitch pulls Tiitti in close to his closed guard and prevents Tiitti from doing any damage or advancing position.

Snitch is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Snitch lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Snitch is stalling in the full guard.
Snitch stops Tiitti from standing up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Let's hope that Snitch has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Snitch ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tiitti moves away.
Snitch tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tiitti swivels and escapes.

Snitch dodges the punch combination from Tiitti.
Tiitti tries to clinch up
and Snitch counters with a stiff right hand.

Tiitti clinches up with Snitch and pushes him back against the cage.
Snitch just leaning against Tiitti, taking a breather.
Snitch keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Tiitti's efforts to push away.
Snitch blocks an elbow strike.
Snitch displaying some good clinch control by pressing Tiitti up against the cage.
Snitch keeps control of Tiitti as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Tiitti looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Tiitti is trying to break the clinch but Snitch has him pressed against the cage.

Tiitti can't get the takedown.
Snitch blocks an elbow strike from Tiitti.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Snitch takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Come on Snitch - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Tiitti creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Snitch has Tiitti pressed against the cage, preventing Tiitti from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Tiitti tries to break the clinch but Snitch is controlling the position.
Snitch is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Snitch slows down the pace here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Tiitti wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Snitch has him pressed against the cage.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Snitch stuffs the takedown attempt from Tiitti. Tiitti gets slowly back to his feet.

Tiitti on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Tiitti uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Snitch.
A big right from Snitch misses.
Snitch fails with a takedown attempt.
Tiitti wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been hearing that Tiitti has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Well, if Tiitti is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Snitch is concentrating on defense, preventing Tiitti from advancing position.
Tiitti seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Snitch does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Snitch throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Tiitti tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Snitch is in Tiitti's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Snitch slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Tiitti throws a big counter combination but Snitch scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Tiitti misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Snitch is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tiitti.

Snitch connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Snitch looks to land a left hand but Tiitti moved out of range nicely.
Snitch throws a body shot but no joy.
Tiitti wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Tiitti tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Snitch manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Tiitti fails with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Snitch darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Snitch is taking a breather. Tiitti says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Tiitti is looking for a sweep. Snitch is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Snitch takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Snitch is continuing to stall.
Tiitti is trying to control but can't.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Jon Snitch is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Snitch cracks Tiitti with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Snitch cracks Tiitti with a right hand to the side of the head.
Tiitti looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Snitch decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Tiitti is looking for a sweep. Snitch is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Snitch in particular looking to stall.
Snitch's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

and Tiitti counters with a three punch combo that has Snitch backing up. Snitch nods at Tiitti to acknowledge the strikes.

I would just about give that final round to Jon Snitch.
I've got Snitch winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
