Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Oscar Gutierrez (ranked 8056 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Blitz (ranked 4500 p4p, 451 weight class). John Blitz will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Oscar Gutierrez !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Blitz!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gutierrez closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Nice elbow from Gutierrez .

Blitz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Gutierrez attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Blitz shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gutierrez sprawls well. Gutierrez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Blitz gets slowly back to his feet.
Gutierrez on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Blitz. Blitz obviously looking to wear him down.
Gutierrez swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gutierrez looks to land a body kick but Blitz moved away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gutierrez misses with a body shot.

Blitz forces Gutierrez back against the cage and clinches.

Blitz manages to break the clinch.
Gutierrez swings away with a body shot that misses
and Blitz counters with a nice kick to the body.

Blitz has taken the fight to the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Blitz decides to pull guard.
Gutierrez wants to stand and escape but instead Blitz has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Blitz is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blitz chips away with some ground and pound.
Blitz landing with the ground and pound.
Blitz controls from within his opponent's guard.
Gutierrez can't keep his opponent in guard - Blitz advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Gutierrez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Blitz is controlling the pace.
Let's hope that Blitz has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Blitz lands with a punch from half guard.
Gutierrez on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gutierrez tries to get out of the position.
Ground and pound from Blitz.
Blitz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Blitz seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Gutierrez is rocked!
Gutierrez tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Blitz manages to move to mount!
Oh Gutierrez is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gutierrez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Blitz controlling the position easily from mount.
A big strike lands for Blitz! That's really hurt Gutierrez and he's turned his back - Blitz keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Blitz jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
