The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ngata shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tiotio as he avoids it easily.
It seemed like Tiotio was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Ngata has his takedown stuffed

and Tiotio counters by clinching up.
Ngata blocking some punches.
Ngata wants to stall.
Tiotio has Ngata pressed against the cage, preventing Ngata from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
A nice left hand lands by Tiotio.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tiotio lands a hook that snaps the head of Ngata backwards.

It looks like Haki Ngata has been cut.
Tiotio swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Tiotio cracks Ngata with a nice body shot.

Tiotio lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Ngata backwards.
Tiotio keeps control of Ngata as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Tiotio presses Ngata against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Tiotio misses with a short punch on the inside.
Tiotio is defending well against a takedown attempt.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are playing wrist control here with Ngata pressed against the cage. Tiotio frees himself up and cracks Ngata with an uppercut straight from the bowels of hell! Ngata crumples to the floor, out cold! Tiotio jumps on to the cage and takes in the roar of the crowd! That was nasty!
