Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Preston Mason (ranked 1667 p4p, 78 weight class) and Marvin Meep (ranked 2826 p4p, 125 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Preston Mason!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marvin Meep!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jonathan Paton and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mason misses with a right hand
and Meep counters with a stiff right hand.
Mason gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
letting Meep counter with a right hand.

Meep takes the fight into the clinch.
Meep pushes Mason back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
We've been hearing reports that Mason has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Meep is pressed up against the cage. Mason has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Meep down to the mat. Meep avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Mason changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Meep looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Mason lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Meep down.

Meep felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Mason closes the distance and clinches up with Meep, looking for a takedown. Mason pushes Meep against the cage but Meep circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Meep wants to get back to his feet but Mason is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Mason stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Meep swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mason is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Preston Mason showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mason, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
