The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makana throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Finley has taken the fight to the clinch.
Makana tries to score a body lock takedown but Finley shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Makana fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Makana breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Makana tries to score a power double leg takedown but Finley sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Makana somewhat.
Makana shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Finley as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lei Makana. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Makana fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Finley instigates a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Finley is trying to break the clinch but Makana has him pressed against the cage.
Finley lands a hook that snaps the head of Makana backwards.
Finley is leaning against Makana and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Finley lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Makana backwards.
Makana tries to pull guard but Finley won't allow it.
A nice left hand lands by Finley.

Makana wants a takedown.
Finley presses Makana against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Makana has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Finley after a bit of a struggle.
Finley throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Makanas head.

Finley breaks from the clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Finley prevents the takedown attempt.
Finley pushes Makana back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Finley lands a hook that snaps the head of Makana backwards.
Finley presses Makana against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Makana is breathing heavily.
Finley scores with a shot to the side of Makana's head.

Makana is rocked!

Finley breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
