Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Riise (ranked 4353 p4p, 0 weight class) and Party Boy (ranked 3490 p4p, 0 weight class). Boy has chosen Party Boy as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riise keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Riise misses with a right hand
enabling Boy to counter with a crisp jab.
Riise shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Boy pinned against the cage. Boy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Riise lands a head kick. Boy smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Boy punishes Riise's body with a nice straight punch.
Riise doesn't manage to clinch there - Boy circles away.
It seemed like Boy was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Riise shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Riise bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
John Riise seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Riise shoots in for a double leg but Boy sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

It looks like Party Boy has been cut.
Riise pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Riise will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Boy seems to have recovered his senses.
Riise takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Riise shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Boy as he avoids it easily.

Riise throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Boy.
Riise takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Boy throws an overhand right that lands on Riise's shoulder, as Riise tries to avoid the shot.

Riise knocks Boy to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?
Riise is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Boy's shoulder. That is not cool.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Boy is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
Riise wants to control but Boy is keeping him busy.

Riise has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Riise there as he acknowledges the shot.

Boy throws a hook to the side of Riise's head but Riise sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Riise fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Boy has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Riise changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Boy tries to avoid it but Riise manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Boy to the ground. Boy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
