Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Umber!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Umber throws out a loose jab but Butler uses good head movement to avoid it.

Butler rushes Umber and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Umber scores with a hook to the body.
Butler tries for a takedown but Umber manages to get underhooks.
A left hand lands to the body for Umber.
Umber misses with the head strike.
Butler is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Umber pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Umber lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Umber gets underhooks to prevent Butler's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Butler. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Umber working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Umber scores with a nice short uppercut.
Butler goes for a takedown attempt but Umber pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

It looks like Jake Butler has been cut.
Umber throws a head kick that misses.
Umber throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Butler sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Umber lands a nice shot that snaps Butler's head back.
Jake Butler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Butler shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Butler's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Butler is trying to control. Umber wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Umber wants to stand and escape but Butler is having none of it.

Umber is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Butler connects with a couple of short punches.
Butler trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Umber is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Umber is adopting a defensive guard.

Umber has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Butler has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Butler is working for takedown but Umber is calmly controlling the position for now.
Butler is looking for a takedown.
Butler has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Umber is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Umber creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Umber misses with a low kick.
Umber waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Butler.
Umber circles away from the clinch attempt.
Umber pulls out of a head kick attempt.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Butler blocks a low kick nicely.
Butler feinted with a counter takedown.
Umber misses with a two punch combination.
Butler avoids a kick to the body.

Butler clinches with his opponent.
A hook to the body from Umber.
Butler wants a takedown.
A short left from Umber.
Umber lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Umber lands a nice shot to the body.
Butler is breathing heavily.
A shot in the inside from Umber.
Butler changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Umber fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Butler takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Umber lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Butler circles away quickly and effectively.
Butler tries to grapple but his opponent circles
letting Umber counter with a right hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Umber dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jake Butler's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Umber lands a left and a right that send Butler crashing to the mat, dazed. Umber thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Butler tries for a takedown but Umber circles away easily
and Umber counters with a lovely straight right hand!


Butler is rocked!
Umber looks to land a combination but Butler avoids it well.
Nice uppercut lands for Umber. That snapped Butler's head back.
Oh Butler is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fight stays on the outside here - Butler looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Umber leaves Butler with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Butler seems to have got his legs back now.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Umber throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Butler finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Umber's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Butler falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jon Umber!
