Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roli Poli (ranked 8252 p4p, 625 weight class) and Mark Smith (ranked 5269 p4p, 491 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Ren Mimura and Yuuki Gou.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poli darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Smith takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Smith takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Poli lands a nice shot to the body.
Smith misses with a jab to the body
and Poli makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Smith throws a hook to the side of Poli's head but Poli sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Poli lands with a nice body punch.
Poli lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Poli throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Smith on the side of the head.

and Poli counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Smith thinking.

Smith misses with a lunging right hand
and Poli counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Poli lunges at Smith with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Smith's hand.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Smith has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Poli uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Smith has time to react.

Smith has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

Mark Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Smith moves forwards but Poli connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Smith shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Poli cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Smith looks winded!
Poli scores with a one two! Smith had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Poli lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Smith at a distance.
Poli lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Smith is still on wobbly legs! Can Poli finish him?
Poli cracks Smith with a hook to the temple - Smith is on wobbly legs here! Poli swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Smith falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Poli wins by TKO!
