Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chenchen Li!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Assan Karim Chorr!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li shoots for a double leg takedown but Chorr sprawls well. He's pushed Li's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Chorr rushes Li and presses him up against the cage.
Li fails to pull guard.

Chorr manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Chorr looking to hit a scissor sweep but Li is one step ahead there.
Chorr is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee asks Li politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Li prefers to stall for the moment though.

Chorr tries to throw a body punch but Li avoids it by throwing Chorr back against the cage.

Li has hold of one of Chorr's legs. Chorr is fighting the takedown attempt but Li gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Chenchen Li overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Li's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Li is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Chorr is defending well for now.

The fight stays on the outside here - Chorr looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Li keeping moving, preventing Chorr from controlling successfully.
Li wants to stand and escape but Chorr is having none of it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Chorr tries for a takedown but Li sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Chenchen Li has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Assan Karim Chorr.
Li throws a right and a left that Chorr avoids nicely.
Chorr shoots in but no luck this time.
As Chorr tries to get set, Li tries to push him back and clinch up but Chorr manages to avoid the attempt.
Li throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Chorr on the side of the head.
Li shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Chorr as he jumps to the side.

Li is trying to pull guard but Chorr turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Li jumps guard but Chorr stands there with Li around his waist. Li gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Chorr breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Chorr throws a push kick but Li slaps the foot to one side.

Li moves into range and clinches up with Chorr.

Li jumps guard and drags Chorr to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Li looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Chorr looking to pass the guard.
Li keeping moving, preventing Chorr from controlling successfully.
Chorr must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Li escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chorr gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Li is wriggling around but Chorr manages to pass to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Chenchen Li showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Li, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
