Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ethan Edwards!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Roger Jones!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Daniel Franklin and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Edwards shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Edwards showed some decent athleticism there.
Jones is pressing down on Edwards's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Jones jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Edwards manages to avoid the submission attempt.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Jones stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jones wants it to stay on the feet.

Edwards is pressed up against the cage. Jones has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Edwards down to the mat. Edwards avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Jones has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Edwards closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Edwards has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though.

Edwards manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Edwards works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Edwards pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Edwards is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Jones gets underhooks to prevent Edwards's takedown attempt.
Edwards is trying to pull guard but Jones turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Jones has had enough of the clinch but Edwards keeps him there for the moment.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ethan Edwards will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Edwards feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Edwards is posturing up here but Jones has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Edwards tries to roll out but it's too tight and Edwards has to tap! Slick submission there by Jones!
