The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the liver by Slater. Beautiful body shot.
Slater avoids the head kick by Carter.
Slater attempts a counter takedown but Carter avoids it well and moves away.

Slater rushes Carter and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

With the fighters up against the cage, Carter throws an elbow but misses.

Carter jumps guard but Slater turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That was a close round but I would say that Pedro Slater will probably get the nod.

Slater will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Carter utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jacquez Carter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

I would just about give that final round to Jacquez Carter.
