Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chiku Maneno (ranked 841 p4p, 116 weight class) and Jan Kriel (ranked 1069 p4p, 145 weight class). Kriel has chosen Fokofpolisiekar - Fokofpolisiekar as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jan Kriel was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 20 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chiku Maneno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jan Kriel!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Kriel does no damage.
Maneno misses with a looping left.
Maneno loads up on a big right hand but Kriel slips the punch.
Kriel now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Maneno tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kriel was well out of range. Poor timing from Maneno.
Kriel throws a big counter head kick but Maneno avoids it with no problem.
Maneno lands a lovely overhand right.


It looks like Jan Kriel has been cut.
Maneno throws a body shot but no joy.
Kriel connects with a looping right hand.
Maneno seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Maneno works Kriel's body with a nice hook.
Maneno smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Maneno misses with a hook. Kriel ducked under it nicely.
Maneno throws a lazy right hand but Kriel sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A big right from Maneno misses.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kriel! But no joy.
Kriel gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kriel throws a looping overhand right but Maneno ducks down to avoid it.

Maneno's jab looks to have found its range, popping Kriel under the eye.
Maneno throws a body punch but Kriel moves out of range.
Maneno misses with an uppercut. Kriel saw that one coming.

A telegraphed right hand from Kriel misses the target.
Maneno fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kriel looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

A jab lands there for Kriel.

Maneno throws an ugly left hook that misses
enabling Kriel to counter with a crisp jab.
Maneno looks to land a right hand but Kriel moved out of range.

Maneno is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kriel.
Kriel lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Maneno lunges at Kriel with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kriel's hand.

Kriel appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Maneno tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kriel was well out of range. Poor timing from Maneno.
Despite the aggression on Kriel's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Kriel is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Maneno throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kriel was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Kriel ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Maneno swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Chiku Maneno seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maneno swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Kriel counters with a three punch combo that has Maneno backing up. Maneno nods at Kriel to acknowledge the strikes.

Kriel lands a left and a right that send Maneno crashing to the mat, dazed. Kriel thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Maneno fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kriel manages to avoid it.
Kriel looks like he wants to counter punch here.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Maneno lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Maneno throws a lazy uppercut
and Kriel counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Maneno throws a jab but it's blocked by Kriel.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chiku Maneno dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jan Kriel's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Maneno misses the jab.
The crowd cheers as Maneno lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kriel doesn't seem phased though.
Maneno takes a swing at Kriel's ribcage but misses.
Maneno scores with a nice head shot.
Kriel feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Maneno's calf.
Maneno throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kriel is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Maneno with a body shot.
Maneno throws a hook but Kriel avoids it easily.
Maneno walks into a straight right hand from Kriel.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kriel throws out a loose jab but Maneno uses good head movement to avoid it.

Maneno lands with an uppercut that bounces Kriel off the cage and back into range.
Kriel takes a jab right on the kisser.


That has opened up Jan Kriel's cut even more.
Maneno circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Kriel to the canvas! Kriel doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Maneno keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chiku Maneno!
A relieved looking Chiku Maneno thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
