PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Zod Wettin (ranked 3647 p4p, 373 weight class) and Jo Smo (ranked 3386 p4p, 348 weight class). Wettin kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Zod. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wettin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Wettin takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

It looks like Zod Wettin has been cut.
Smo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Wettin seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
No joy there for Smo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Wettin gets a clinch.

Wettin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Smo throws a looping overhand right but Wettin ducks down to avoid it.
Smo throws a body shot but no joy.
We've been informed that Smo has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Wettin throws a head kick that half lands.

Wettin clips Smo with a right and a left that makes him do the chicken dance for a couple of seconds. He touched his left hand down on the canvas so the referee steps between the fighters to give Smo a standing 8 count before we can continue the bout.

Smo is rocked!

It looks like Jo Smo has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Smo lands an overhand right.
Smo is still on wobbly legs! Can Wettin finish him?
Smo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Smo tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Smo seems to have recovered his senses.
Wettin dances in with a quick combination. Smo is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Wettin snaps Smo's head back. Smo stumbles backwards against the ropes. Wettin steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Smo's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Smo just didn't come prepared.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Zod Wettin!
Zod Wettin took some time post fight to say the following; 'Kneel before Zod!!!!!!'.
The defeated Jo Smo had this to say: 'Pshhhh what bull man, I can beat that guy easy. give me a rematch man!'.
