Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pa‘Akea Built (ranked 413 p4p, 65 weight class) and Paul Hunt (ranked 340 p4p, 49 weight class). Pa‘Akea Built could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Paul Hunt's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Built misses the shot to the body.
Hunt scores with a jab to the jaw.
Hunt thuds a left hand into Built's body.
Built drops his hands momentarily and Hunt takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
A nice inside leg kick there by Hunt. That's going to slow Built down.
Hunt shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Built defends it nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hunt looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Hunt crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Built - the referee stops the clock and Hunt gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Built. Hunt manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Built closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Built walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Paul Hunt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Built has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Hunt has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Hunt throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Built's waist but Built gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hunt off to one side.

It looked like Built was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Built creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Hunt's defenses.

Hunt is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Built had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hunt has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Built uses from the top position.

Built seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hunt is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Built is looking to take a break and control but Hunt is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Built wants to stand but Hunt is controlling his arm.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hunt is looking to reverse the position.

Built is trying to get an arm triangle but Hunt is defending well.

That was a close second round but I would say that Pa‘Akea Built will probably get the nod.

Built looks for the body kick but Hunt saw that one coming.

Hunt dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Built. That did some damage!

Hunt rushes Built and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hunt jumps guard but Built stands there with Hunt around his waist. Hunt gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Pa‘Akea Built has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Hunt.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hunt.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Built checks a leg kick.

and Hunt counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Built has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hunt.

It looked like Built was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

A little jabbing left from Hunt on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Hunt throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Built is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

and Built counters with a head kick that drops Hunt to the mat! Hunt scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Hunt is still on wobbly legs! Can Built finish him?
This has been an exciting period of action!
Built throws a powerful right kick. Hunt tried to block low but the kick was high! Hunt was taken right off of his feet! Built jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!
