Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Huey Gregory (ranked 5862 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joel Huxton (ranked 5861 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Huxton moves into the clinch.
Huxton is pushing Gregory up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Huxton shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gregory as he avoids it easily.

Huxton manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Gregory on his heels. He'll look to pass Gregory's guard now, I'm sure.
Huxton is looking to work some ground and pound but Gregory has wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gregory is on top in guard.

Gregory drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gregory jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Gregory is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Gregory drops back, looking for a kneebar! Huxton looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Huxton looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Huxton!

Huxton goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Gregory has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Huxton but great work by Gregory.
Huxton tries to bench press Gregory off him but Gregory keeps the position.

and Gregory counters with a series of strikes. Huxton will be more careful next time no doubt.

Gregory really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Joel Huxton will probably get the nod.
That's time! Gregory's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Huxton throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gregory's waist but Gregory gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Huxton off to one side.
Huxton misses with a takedown attempt - Gregory sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
As Huxton tries to get set, Gregory tries to push him back and clinch up but Huxton manages to avoid the attempt.

Huxton drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gregory manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Huxton has Gregory in his guard.

Huxton wants to control the position but Gregory says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Huey Gregory overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Gregory has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Huxton defend it? Gregory steps over the head and cranks it - Huxton is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Gregory!
