Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jay Brown (ranked 5218 p4p, 526 weight class) and Gustav Gustavsson (ranked 4005 p4p, 441 weight class). Brown comes into the arena with If I ruled the world nas blaring out of the sound system. Gustavsson has chosen Clawfinger - Biggest The Best as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Brown.
Gustavsson takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

It looks like Jay Brown has been cut.
Gustavsson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Brown doesn't seem bothered though.
Gustavsson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Brown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gustavsson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Brown takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Gustavsson throws a shot from downtown. Brown moves away and avoids it.

Gustavsson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A punch lands to the side of Brown 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Horrible takedown attempt by Brown or perhaps it was just good defense by Gustavsson, which made it look bad.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Gustavsson cracks Brown with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Jay Brown's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Gustavsson is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Brown had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Gustavsson stuffs the takedown attempt from Brown. Brown gets slowly back to his feet.
Gustavsson dips to his left and cracks Brown with an uppercut!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gustavsson leaves Brown with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Jay Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circle momentarily. Gustavsson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Jeez, Jay Brown's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

Gustavsson sends Brown crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Gustavsson is motioning to the referee to let Brown up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Gustavsson counters with a massive hook, right on the button! He's out cold! Damn, that was naaaaaasty! Hopefully he'll be OK.
