Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rafael Oreiro (ranked 7579 p4p, 634 weight class) and Chief Bear (ranked 5134 p4p, 531 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bear misses with a takedown attempt - Oreiro sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Oreiro definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Bear shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Oreiro as he jumps to the side.
No joy there for Oreiro, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Oreiro clobbers Bear with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

and Oreiro counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Rafael Oreiro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chief Bear.
Bear shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Oreiro as he jumps to the side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Oreiro moves into range and connects with a jab.

and Bear decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Oreiro's guard.

Oreiro has his feet on Bear's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Bear.

Oreiro moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Bear shoots and misses
and Oreiro counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Bear shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Oreiro sprawls well. Oreiro wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bear gets slowly back to his feet.
Bear looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Oreiro is fending him off so far but Bear persists. Nope, Oreiro circles away and we're back to standing.
It looked like Oreiro wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Good exchange - Oreiro coming out on top.
Bear tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Oreiro defends well and Bear ends up having to push Oreiro into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

and Oreiro counters with a nice right hand that sends Bear toppling to the canvas! Bear scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Oreiro finish him?!

Bear is rocked!
Bear tries to move into range but Oreiro moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Bear is still on wobbly legs! Can Oreiro finish him?
Oreiro darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Bear's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Oreiro before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
