Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between David Dupuis (ranked 4907 p4p, 514 weight class) and Daniel Harrison (ranked 25296 p4p, 706 weight class). Dupuis's entrance music is Getting Stronger. A fine choice. Daniel Harrison told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Dupuis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daniel Harrison!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harrison tries to clinch up but Dupuis circles away and keeps his distance.

Dupuis has managed to clinch.
Dupuis keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Harrison's efforts to push away.
Harrison working hard to break the clinch.
Harrison lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Dupuis or not.

Dupuis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Dupuis feints and then cracks Harrison's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Harrison down.
Dupuis showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Harrison.
Harrison has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Dupuis.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Harrison is looking to clinch.

Dupuis closes the distance and clinches.
Dupuis lands a good knee to the midsection. Harrison won't want to take too many of those.
Dupuis is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Dupuis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Harrison darts in trying to clinch
and Dupuis counters with a three punch combo that has Harrison backing up. Harrison nods at Dupuis to acknowledge the strikes.
Harrison takes a jab right on the kisser.

Dupuis gets in close and instigates a clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Dupuis.
Our sources have told us that Dupuis has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
Dupuis lands on the inside with an uppercut.


Harrison is rocked!
Harrison trying to control the position but instead, Dupuis has worked for underhooks and has pushed Harrison into the ropes.
Harrison is still on wobbly legs! Can Dupuis finish him?
Dupuis lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Dupuis's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Stalling in the clinch from Dupuis.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Dupuis for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Harrison seems to have recovered his senses.
A frustrated look appears on Harrison's face as he tries to break the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dupuis works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Harrison looks winded!
Harrison wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Harrison misses with an elbow over the top.
Dupuis stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dupuis manages to break the clinch.
Dupuis knocks out Harrison with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Dupuis before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Dupuis picks up the big W with a huge KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). David Dupuis!
An out of breath David Dupuis thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
