The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Bart Greer and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sands Jr circles away from the clinch attempt
and Sands Jr counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Sands Jr thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Escobar's head.
Escobar wants to get back to his feet.
Sands Jr works his way into side control.
Sands Jr scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Escobar to see if he's OK.
Sands Jr is trying to get an arm triangle but Escobar is defending well.
Escobar is working to avoid the ground and pound but Sands Jr connects with a decent elbow.
Escobar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sands Jr on the ground.
Escobar wants to get back to his feet but Sands Jr is dominant here and he's now got Escobar's back!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Escobar is trying to get back to his feet but Sands Jr has full control of the position and if anything, Escobar has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Escobar takes a big shot to the side of the head.
It looks like Michael Escobar has been cut.
Sands Jr lands with a hammerfist to the side of Escobar's head.
Sands Jr connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Escobar to escape the position.
Escobar is rocked!
Sands Jr lands strikes from the back and Escobar isn't doing enough to escape the position. The referee steps in to end the fight.
