PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jarkko Rock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Czeslaw Pendrak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jarkko Rock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Czeslaw Pendrak!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pendrak scores with a kick to the midsection.

Pendrak fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rock sprawls well initially but Pendrak persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Pendrak stalling.
Pendrak prevents Rock from improving his position.
Pendrak is looking to advance position but Rock won't allow it.
Pendrak is taking a breather. Rock says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Let's hope that Pendrak has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Pendrak tries to pass to full mount but Rock defends it.
Rock pushes Pendrak off looking to stand but Pendrak dives back in and keeps control.
Pendrak is pressing down on Rock's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rock is holding on for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pendrak looks to land a combination but Rock avoids it well.
Pendrak swats away the attempt to clinch by Rock.

Pendrak tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Pendrak has had enough of the clinch but Rock keeps him there for the moment.
Rock blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Pendrak slips a nice elbow through Rock's hands, connecting with Rock's forehead.
Rock has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pendrak is working away from the top position though.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rock is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pendrak's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pendrak's back!

Despite being in the dominant position, Czeslaw Pendrak just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Rock decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Pendrak manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rock manages to get himself to full guard.

Rock stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pendrak swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pendrak is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

and Pendrak decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rock's guard.

Pendrak is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Rock's shoulder. That is not cool.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rock seems a little lost for a moment, as Pendrak dominates the positioning.
Pendrak tries to move to mount but Rock blocks the move with his legs.
Pendrak wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rock keeps working.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Pendrak shoots for a takedown but Rock saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rock throws a sloppy head kick and Pendrak moves out of range easily.
Rock closes the distance but Pendrak moves to the side

and Pendrak counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Rock!

Well Pendrak has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
