The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McSlamm just misses with a punch to the body.
St Pierre shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
McSlamm throws out a counter right but St Pierre avoids it with no problem.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - McSlamm has eaten all the pies!
St Pierre slips under a jab from McSlamm.
McSlamm throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
St Pierre on the wrong end of a nice hook.
St Pierre shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McSlamm pinned against the cage. McSlamm gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
McSlamm swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
St Pierre moves out of range as McSlamm strikes.
St Pierre attempts a counter takedown but McSlamm avoids it well and moves away.
McSlamm swings widly with a right hand

and St Pierre counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

St Pierre prevents McSlamm from improving his position.

St Pierre is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and McSlamm defends it well.
McSlamm wants to control but St Pierre is keeping busy.

McSlamm has hold of St Pierre 's hands but St Pierre slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
St Pierre passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for McSlamm!
St Pierre wants to control the pace but McSlamm is squirming around nicely.
McSlamm is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

St Pierre working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. McSlamm looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! After the fight, Dywane St Pierre was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
Sara McSlamm spoke after the fight, saying 'I made a mental error. when your flipping a burger thats not a big deal. you dont go to the hospital after forgetting to put the pickle on it... I gotta heal up but ill be back.'.
