PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fanta Coco (ranked 2759 p4p, 282 weight class) and Roddy Piper (ranked 3880 p4p, 391 weight class). Piper has chosen Roddy Piper Entrance as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fanta Coco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roddy Piper!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Piper misses.
Piper steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Coco. That one must have hurt.
Coco lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Piper fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Coco manages to avoid it.
Piper misses with a two punch combination.
Piper is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Coco.
Piper with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Coco to score with a decent uppercut.
Piper throws a left and a right that both miss
and Coco counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Piper on the wrong end of a nice jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Crunch! Coco slams his shin into Piper's torso.
Coco throws a combination. Piper tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Piper misses with a left hand
and Coco counters with a stiff right hand.
Coco throws a shot to the body.
Piper has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Coco feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Piper's calf.
Coco moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Piper throws a nice looking combination but Coco bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Coco bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Piper! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

Piper is rocked!

Coco gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Piper is still on wobbly legs! Can Coco finish him?
Coco fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Piper seems to have recovered his senses.
Piper falls off balance throwing a combination
and Coco counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Coco thumps Piper with a low kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Piper gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Coco gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Piper is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fanta Coco!
Our winner, Fanta Coco, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
