PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pete Blowkarski (ranked 3717 p4p, 139 weight class) and Naoise Durnin (ranked 3440 p4p, 125 weight class). Blowkarski comes to the cage accompanied by Chop Suey. Naoise Durnin told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blowkarski takes one on the button.
Durnin jabs Blowkarski to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Durnin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Blowkarski on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
A head kick by Blowkarski misses
and Durnin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Durnin cracks a nice hook into Blowkarski's ribs.
Durnin sizes up Blowkarski with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Durnin getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Blowkarski tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Durnin was well out of range. Poor timing from Blowkarski.
Blowkarski throws a head kick that misses.
Durnin throws a lazy right hand but Blowkarski sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Blowkarski swings for the body but Durnin moves out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Durnin works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Durnin scores with a sloppy right hand. Blowkarski should have avoided that one.
Durnin catches Blowkarski with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

and Durnin counters with a nice body shot.
Durnin has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Blowkarski is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Blowkarski is breathing heavily.
Blowkarski walks straight into a right hand from Durnin - that's dropped him! Durnin jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Blowkarski from any more punishment! Blowkarski complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Naoise Durnin!
A very excited looking Naoise Durnin made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
