Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dokonjonosuke Ueda (ranked 3417 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bartel Diakite (ranked 18770 p4p, 0 weight class). Diakite has chosen Diamonds as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dokonjonosuke Ueda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bartel Diakite!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Taro Takaoka and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diakite tries a head kick but it misses.
Ueda shoots for a takedown but Diakite saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ueda tries to clinch but Diakite moves away

and Diakite counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Still in half guard, Diakite seems content to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ueda is trying to control but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Diakite in particular looking to stall.
Ueda tries to roll over but Diakite keeps him under control.
Diakite prevents Ueda from standing back up.

Diakite content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Ueda throws a left and a right that both miss

so Diakite counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Ueda looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Diakite passes into half guard.

Diakite takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Ueda wants to get back to full guard.
Still in half guard, Diakite seems content to control.
Diakite frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Diakite tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Ueda is desperately trying to improve his position but Diakite has a good base and remains in mount.

Ueda tries to reverse the position but Diakite maintains control.
Diakite looking to control and managing it successfully.
Ueda is in all sorts of trouble here.

Let's hope that Diakite has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
It looks like Diakite might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Ueda throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Diakite counters with a shoot takedown. Ueda fights it but they end up in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Diakite is standing up over Ueda. Ueda looks to escape but Diakite dives into side control.
Diakite happy to just control the position for now.
Ueda wants to get back to his feet but Diakite is dominant here and he's now got Ueda's back!
Diakite has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Diakite has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Ueda's body.

Ueda looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Bartel Diakite has got the better of the ground game so far.
What can Ueda do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Diakite's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bartel Diakite showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Ueda misses with a takedown attempt

and Diakite moves into the clinch.

Diakite drags the fight down to the ground.

Diakite had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ueda defends it easily.

Ueda gets to his feet. Diakite looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Diakite is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Bartel Diakite comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Diakite has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
