Assassin is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Thuggish Ruggish Bone. U R Dead has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dead uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Assassin.
Assassin getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

and Assassin counters with a left hand that sends Dead to the canvas!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dead wants to sweep here but Assassin controlling him for the moment.
Assassin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dead swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dead escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Assassin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Dead tries to pass the half guard into mount. Assassin knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Dead throws a wild body kick that Assassin sees coming a mile off.

The fight stays on the outside here - Dead looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Dead takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Assassin scores with a hook to the body. Dead takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Assassin lands a nice looking body shot.
Dead closes this distance looking for a takedown but Assassin circles away.
Assassin fails in his attempt to clinch.
Assassin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dead paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Assassin misses with a series of wild punches.
Assassin throws out a powerful jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
No joy there for Assassin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Assassin tries to clinch there but Dead circles away.
Assassin is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Assassin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Assassin swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Dead.
Dead keeps the fight on the outside.

Assassin misses with a few strikes there.
Assassin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dead circles away quickly and effectively.
Assassin drops Dead with a nice combination! Assassin dives into Dead's guard, looking to finish!

Dead is rocked!
Assassin passes Dead's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Assassin wants to control but Dead is keeping him busy.
Assassin moves into full mount! Dead won't be happy about that!
Assassin looking to control but Dead is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Assassin throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Dead because Assassin loaded up on that one.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Assassin throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Assassin wants to get back to his feet but Dead is holding on tight.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Assassin takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

U R Dead seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice straight punches there by Dead. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Dead.

Dead has closed the distance and engaged Assassin in a clinch.

Dead has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Assassin is trying to keep an underhook but Dead manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Assassin regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Dead.
Dead knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Assassin on the ground.
Assassin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
