Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Bob McDonald (ranked 1943 p4p, 73 weight class) and Gandolf Schmidt (ranked 4031 p4p, 146 weight class). McDonald comes into the arena with The Fabulous Thunderbirds - Tuff Enuff blaring out of the sound system. Jim Bob McDonald has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Bob McDonald!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gandolf Schmidt!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Skip Squint and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmidt misses with a hook. McDonald ducked under it nicely.
McDonald is looking to counter punch.
Schmidt throws a shot from downtown. McDonald moves away and avoids it.
McDonald throws a body shot but no joy.
McDonald misses with a looping left.
McDonald walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
McDonald feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Schmidts jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
McDonald throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
McDonald lands a nice hook to Schmidt's body. Schmidt takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Schmidt avoids a punch combination nicely.
Schmidt takes a body punch but keeps moving.

McDonald waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Schmidt. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Schmidt to the canvas! Can he finish him!?


It looks like Gandolf Schmidt has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Schmidt wants to stand up but McDonald is controlling him.
McDonald is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McDonald won't allow Schmidt to get back to his feet.
McDonald trying to control but Schmidt is working from the bottom.
Schmidt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McDonald. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
McDonald definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
McDonald prevents Schmidt from getting back to his feet.
Schmidt working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from McDonald.
McDonald is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
McDonald is in close to Schmidt's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Schmidt is looking to stand up but McDonald isn't so interested in that idea.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Schmidt can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as McDonald controls the pace.
McDonald stops Schmidt from standing up.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
McDonald pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Schmidt is keeping the position for now.
McDonald makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
McDonald might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
McDonald slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

McDonald lands a huge shot from side control! Schmidt is out cold! This one is all over!
