Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adan Mendoza (ranked 25333 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shaharuddin Kalam (ranked 6013 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Adan Mendoza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shaharuddin Kalam!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Summer Carpenter and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendoza gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kalam to score an easy takedown into full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kalam tries to free his leg and advance position but Mendoza is retaining full guard.

Mendoza is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kalam defends well.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
A thudding body kick lands there by Kalam!
Mendoza tries to keep at a distance but Kalam has taken the fight into the clinch.
Mendoza is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kalam pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Kalam turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Kalam is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Kalam tries to move to full mount but Mendoza actually manages to regain half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kalam in particular looking to stall.
Kalam wants to pass the guard but Mendoza is defending well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

and Kalam takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Mendoza shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kalam as he avoids it easily.

Kalam wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mendoza keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shaharuddin Kalam dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Kalam tries to clinch up
and Mendoza counters with a left and a right that stings Kalam.
Kalam closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kalam lands in his opponent's guard.
Mendoza has momentary wrist control but Kalam slips an elbow through the middle.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Kalam. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kalam is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Mendoza is staying active.

Mendoza looking to break Kalam's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Kalam remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Mendoza will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kalam is trying to shake Mendoza off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Mendoza won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.
Mendoza displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kalam.

Adan Mendoza is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kalam shoots in for a double leg but Mendoza sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

A close second round but Shaharuddin Kalam will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Kalam shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kalam showed some decent athleticism there.
Mendoza has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kalam is working away from the top position though.

Kalam uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Kalam misses with a low kick.
Kalam shoots for a double leg takedown but Mendoza sprawls well. He's pushed Kalam's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

enabling Mendoza to counter with a crisp jab.
Kalam takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Kalam changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mendoza tries to avoid it but Kalam manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mendoza to the ground. Mendoza escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mendoza went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Adan Mendoza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shaharuddin Kalam.
No luck for Kalam with that takedown attempt.

Kalam gets the takedown into side control.

Kalam is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Shaharuddin Kalam comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Kalam winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
