Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Casey Higgins (ranked 25532 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zanfanz Mazing (ranked 8328 p4p, 0 weight class). Zanfanz Mazing has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Casey Higgins's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zanfanz Mazing!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Ren Mimura and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mazing bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Higgins really is a fat lump.
Higgins on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Higgins tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Mazing presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Higgins really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Higgins regains half guard.
Higgins might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Higgins utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Higgins is looking to sweep but instead, Mazing has passed into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mazing landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Higgins has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mazing is working away from the top position though.
Mazing seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Mazing is looking to take a break and control but Higgins is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Mazing is looking to pass into half guard but Higgins pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Higgins is in guard.

Mazing is working an open guard so Higgins takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Mazing forces Higgins back against the cage and clinches.
Higgins tries to score a body lock takedown but Mazing shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Higgins is trying to drag Mazing to the mat but Mazing just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Higgins pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Mazing changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Higgins looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Higgins manages to work his way to half guard, despite Mazing's best efforts.

Higgins is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mazing's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mazing's back!
Higgins keeps control of the position easily here as Mazing tries to buck him off.
Mazing tries to roll but Higgins sticks to his back.
Mazing is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Higgins tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mazing manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mazing is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Higgins with a body shot.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Higgins tries to score with some ground and pound. Mazing controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Higgins lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Mazing down.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Higgins creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Mazing sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Mazing avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Higgins.
Higgins is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Mazing will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

That was a close second round but I would say that Casey Higgins will probably get the nod.

Higgins shoots in looking for a takedown but Mazing manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Higgins's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Mazing jumps guard and drags Higgins to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Higgins gets to his feet. Mazing looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Crunch! Higgins slams his shin into Mazing's torso.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mazing decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Higgins has one foot on Mazing's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Mazing takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mazing defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Higgins.

Mazing fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Higgins to the ground. Mazing is now in Higgins's guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Higgins works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Mazing pulls Higgins in close to prevent any damage.
Higgins with a flurry of punches that miss.

Higgins lands a couple of digs.

Higgins decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mazing, up you get!
No joy there for Mazing, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Higgins wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Higgins shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mazing as he avoids it easily.
Higgins is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mazing can do to turn this around?

Higgins has managed to clinch.
Mazing tries to stall but Higgins uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Higgins is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Mazing is defending well.
Mazing is trying to break the clinch but Higgins is controlling him.
Higgins drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mazing pulls his leg out and moves away.

Higgins tries to sprawl but Mazing drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Mazing tries to stand but can't do so whilst Higgins controls his leg.
Mazing not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Higgins is staying active underneath Mazing, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Higgins makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Higgins.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Higgins is on top in guard.

Higgins stands up and waves to Mazing to follow him.
Zanfanz Mazing seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Higgins shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Higgins showed some decent athleticism there.
Higgins working over Mazing with some ground and pound. Mazing looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Casey Higgins showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Higgins, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
