The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
griffin avoids the body shot from aoki.
griffin stuffs the takedown.
griffin lands a nice hook to aoki's body. aoki takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
aoki shoots for a double leg takedown but griffin sprawls well. He's pushed aoki's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

That was a close round but I would say that tyson griffin will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

aoki had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. griffin is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. aoki Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take griffin's back instead.
