Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cornelius Barnaby!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ricky Gracie!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie blocks a head kick by Barnaby.
Barnaby darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Barnaby lands a really nice looking cross but Gracie seems unphased.
Gracie is looking to clinch but Barnaby is avoiding it.
Gracie shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.


Gracie is rocked!
Barnaby swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Gracie counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gracie.
Gracie is still in real trouble! Can Barnaby finish him?
Gracie stays in close to Barnaby's body and controls the position.
Gracie seems to have recovered his senses.
Barnaby definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie forces his way into half guard.
Barnaby wants to get back to full guard.

Gracie tries to pass the half guard into mount. Barnaby knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Gracie wants to take a breather but Barnaby is having none of it.
Gracie is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Barnaby tries to roll over but Gracie keeps him under control.
Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Barnaby keeps working.
Gracie moves into full mount! Barnaby won't be happy about that!

Gracie jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Barnaby manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Gracie tries to move to mount but Barnaby blocks the move with his legs.

Gracie is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Barnaby will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Gracie wants to control but Barnaby is keeping him busy.
Barnaby tries to improve position but can't.

Gracie is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Barnaby has escaped the position, nice work there.
Barnaby is not content to let Gracie control the position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Barnaby wants to control but Gracie postures up.
Barnaby knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.

Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Barnaby is trying to improve his position.
Gracie tries to move into full mount but can't pass Barnaby's legs.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Barnaby keeps working.
Gracie might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Barnaby haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Barnaby knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Gracie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Barnaby, who protects the arm well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Barnaby gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Gracie walks into a stiff left hand from Barnaby.

Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Barnaby is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gracie advances to half guard.

Gracie is pressing down on Barnaby's thigh, looking to free his foot. Barnaby is holding on for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barnaby is staying active underneath Gracie, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Barnaby keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully.

Gracie is pushing down on Barnaby's leg trying to pass to half guard. Barnaby is fighting to maintain full guard but Gracie has managed to sneak the leg through.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Gracie is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Gracie tries to pass to full mount but Barnaby defends it.
Gracie trying to control the action but Barnaby is working from the bottom.
Barnaby is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Gracie wants to control but Barnaby is keeping him busy.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Barnaby lands a slapping body shot.
Gracie tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Barnaby defends well and Gracie ends up having to push Barnaby into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Gracie takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Barnaby lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Gracie shoots for a takedown but Barnaby saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Barnaby throws a quick head kick that knocks Gracie silly! This fight is all over! What a finish! Barnaby is up on the cage, taking in the applause from the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Cornelius Barnaby!
