The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good exchange - Markakis coming out on top.
peters tries to clinch up but Markakis circles away and keeps his distance.
Markakis tries to clinch but peters moves away
and peters holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
peters tries for a takedown. No joy.
peters manages to break the clinch.
Markakis throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
peters drives through and clinches with Markakis against the cage.
peters wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Markakis has him pressed against the cage.
Markakis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Markakis throws a right hand that peters ducks under and follows up with a left that peters also avoids with ease.
peters showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Markakis.
peters tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Markakis circles away from the clinch attempt.
peters drives through and clinches with Markakis against the cage.
Markakis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
It's a brutal combination of punches from Markakis! peters is backing up but he can't get away as Markakis lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops peters and ends the fight. Great knockout.
