Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Brodie!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brodie shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bender's guard.
Bender is trying to keep Brodie in close.
Brodie wants to stand but Bender is controlling his posture from full guard.

Brodie controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Bender is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Brodie wants to pass the guard but Bender is defending well.

Bender wants to improve his position but Brodie is controlling well.

Brodie seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Brodie seems to be working for a kimura but Bender defends the submission attempt.
Brodie looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Brodie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bender is just riding it out for now. Brodie eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brodie seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Brodie closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Brodie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Brodie lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Brodie seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bender does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Let's hope that Brodie has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Brodie seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bender does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Brodie is stalling here. Bender is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Brodie seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Bender has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
