The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gregory avoids it really well and circles away.
Souza throws a left and a right that both miss

and Gregory counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Gregory escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A head kick by Souza misses

and Gregory counters with a single leg into guard. Souza didn't expect that.
Souza is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Gregory postures up in Souza's guard and throws a big left but Souza blocks it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Gregory has Souza pressed against the cage, preventing Souza from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Souza has hold of one of Gregory's legs. Gregory is fighting the takedown attempt but Souza gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Gregory pulls Souza in to control the position.

That was a close round but I would say that Timmy Gregory will probably get the nod.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Gregory has the hooks in. Souza is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

I really don't envy Souza right now.
