Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brownie Anderson (ranked 2643 p4p, 345 weight class) and Brian Murphy (ranked 6527 p4p, 681 weight class). Murphy has chosen Róisín Murphy - Primitive as his entrance music. Brian Murphy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brownie Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 45 - 33 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Murphy!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Anderson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Murphy scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Murphy throws a push kick but Anderson slaps the foot to one side.
Anderson moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Murphy throws a leg kick that is checked
and Anderson counters with a two punch combo.
Murphy throws a solid leg kick but Anderson takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Murphy.

Anderson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Murphy quickly recovers to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Anderson tries to pass to full mount but Murphy defends it.

Anderson wants to pass the guard but Murphy is defending well.
Anderson is taking a breather. Murphy says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Anderson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Anderson prevents Murphy from improving his position.
Anderson is taking a breather. Murphy says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Anderson.
Murphy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Anderson moves into range and clinches up with Murphy.

Murphy throws a punch but it's blocked by Anderson.

Murphy has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Anderson is looking for a takedown.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Murphy is looking for a sweep. Anderson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Anderson throws a leg kick which misses Murphy's front leg but catches the back leg as Murphy tries to avoid it.

Anderson lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

and Anderson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Anderson lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee warns Murphy that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Anderson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A frustrated look appears on Murphy's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Anderson has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Murphy clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Murphy is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Anderson off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Anderson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Anderson slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Anderson throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Murphy!
Anderson is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Anderson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Well, if Anderson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Anderson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Murphy for as long as he can get away with.

Murphy wants to improve his position but Anderson is controlling well.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Anderson connects with a high kick.

Anderson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Murphy.

Murphy pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Murphy takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Anderson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Anderson.
Anderson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Murphy can do to turn this around?

Brownie Anderson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Anderson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Anderson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Murphy's face.

If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Anderson is stinking the place up with his stalling.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Brownie Anderson showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Anderson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
