Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Davies!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Davies!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fighter B fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Fighter A, pushing him back against the cage.
Fighter B is trying to pull guard but Fighter A has him pressed against the cage.
Fighter B jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Fighter A walks away with a smile on his face. Fighter B gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Fighter A keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Michael Davies has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Davies.

Fighter B gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Fighter A's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Fighter B on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Fighter B pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Fighter A tries to counter by clinching up but Fighter B breaks away and moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fighter A stuffs the takedown attempt from Fighter B. Fighter B gets slowly back to his feet.
Fighter A fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Fighter A is trying hard to land a takedown here. Fighter B sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fighter B tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fighter A sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fighter B somewhat.
Fighter B throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Fighter B connects with a body shot that sends Fighter A's belly button to the back.
No luck for Fighter A with that takedown attempt.
Fighter B shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fighter A but Fighter A pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Fighter A changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fighter B tries to avoid it but Fighter A manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fighter B to the ground. Fighter B escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Fighter B wants to counter with a clinch but Fighter A pushes him away.
Fighter A throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Fighter B scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Fighter A is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Fighter B moves into range and clinches up with Fighter A.

Fighter B pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Fighter B fails with the takedown.
As Fighter B backs away, Fighter A returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Fighter B leaves Fighter A with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Fighter B clinches.
Fighter B jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Fighter A walks away with a smile on his face. Fighter B gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Fighter B throws a head kick that misses

and Fighter A moves into the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Fighter B pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Fighter A keeps the fight on the outside.
It looked like Fighter A was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Fighter B blocks a head kick by Fighter A.
Fighter B tries to counter by closing the distance.

Fighter B looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Fighter A!
Fighter A can't do much from the bottom here.
Fighter B controlling from side mount.
Fighter A throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fighter B throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Fighter A takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fighter B wants to control but Fighter A is keeping him busy.
Fighter A tries to escape but Fighter B is in control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Fighter B creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Fighter B lands a decent elbow from side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael Davies dominated that round.
That's time! Fighter A's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Fighter B will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Fighter B shoots in but no luck this time.
Fighter A attempts a counter takedown but Fighter B avoids it well and moves away.
Fighter A slaps away a takedown attempt from Fighter B, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Fighter A moves in looking to clinch but Fighter B pushes him off.
Fighter A goes for a double leg but Fighter B avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Fighter B continues to drive forward.
Fighter A misses with a takedown attempt - Fighter B sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fighter B throws a series of punches but Fighter A avoids them all with ease.
Fighter B is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fighter B is looking to clinch.
Fighter B looks for a takedown but Fighter A sprawls well.
Michael Davies has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Davies.
Fighter B is breathing heavily.
Fighter B closes this distance looking for a takedown but Fighter A circles away.
Fighter A shoots in looking for a takedown. Fighter B tries to sprawl out of it but Fighter A keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fighter B manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fighter A tries to clinch but Fighter B moves out of range.
Fighter B has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Fighter B tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Fighter A just stands there and leans against the cage.

Fighter A breaks the clinch.
Fighter A misses with a double jab

and Fighter B moves into the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Stalling in the clinch from Fighter A.
Fighter B prevents a takedown attempt there.

Fighter B gets control of Fighter A's arms and successfully pulls guard. Fighter B will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Fighter A trying to control the position from guard on top but Fighter B is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Fighter B trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Fighter B looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fighter A is one step ahead there.
Fighter A controls from within his opponent's guard.

Fighter B seems keen to control Fighter A's posture.
Fighter A trying to control but Fighter B is working from the bottom.
Fighter A stopping the sweep attempt from Fighter B.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Fighter A shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fighter B as he avoids it easily.
Fighter B connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Fighter A displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fighter B.
Fighter B keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Fighter B closes the distance and pushes Fighter A back into the cage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Fighter B breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Fighter B tried to score with a low kick but Fighter A checks it.
Fighter B closes the distance and lands a one-two.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael Davies showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Fighter A's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Fighter A can't find room to land a body shot as Fighter B controls the action.
Fighter A goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Fighter B is trying to break the clinch but Fighter A is controlling him.

Fighter A breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Fighter B fails with a takedown attempt.
Michael Davies seems to be getting the better of the standup.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fighter B fails with a takedown attempt.
Fighter B takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Fighter A looks to clinch
and Fighter B counters with a right hand to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
That kick from Fighter A tenderised Fighter B's leg. Fighter B is trying to keep his angry face on.
Fighter A is looking to clinch.
Fighter B appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Fighter A shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fighter B pinned against the cage. Fighter B gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Nice sprawl there from Fighter B as Fighter A shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Davies. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fighter A fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fighter B avoids it really well and circles away.

Fighter A shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Fighter B counters with a three punch combo that has Fighter A backing up. Fighter A nods at Fighter B to acknowledge the strikes.
No joy there for Fighter B, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Fighter B rushes Fighter A and presses him up against the cage.
Fighter A prevents a takedown attempt there.
Fighter B will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Fighter A up against the cage.

Fighter B breaks from the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fighter B fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Fighter A looks for a takedown but Fighter B sprawls well.
Michael Davies is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Fighter A keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Fighter A tries for a takedown but Fighter B sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Fighter B has a takedown stuffed.
Fighter B tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Fighter A manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Fighter A shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fighter B defends it nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fighter B looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fighter A is fending him off so far but Fighter B persists. Nope, Fighter A circles away and we're back to standing.
A chopping leg kick lands by Fighter A.
Fighter A fails with a takedown attempt.

Fighter A changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Fighter B looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Fighter B explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

And that's the end of the fight!
Michael Davies comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Fighter B has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
