Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ezequiel Cruz (ranked 24874 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kiro Kirov (ranked 6030 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ezequiel Cruz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kiro Kirov!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kirov instigates a clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Cruz is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Kirov to keep the fight standing.
Cruz tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kirov just stands there and leans against the cage.
Kirov wants to take the fight to the mat but Cruz manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Kirov wants a takedown.
Cruz is trying to pull guard but Kirov turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Cruz throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Kirov escapes and throws Cruz's legs to the side, diving into side control!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cruz throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Cruz could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Kirov throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Kirov decides to stand back up. Kirov steps back and let's Cruz get back to his feet.
Kirov shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cruz as he avoids it easily.

Cruz shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cruz showed some decent athleticism there.

Kirov holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Kirov is trying to maintain the position but Cruz is very close to passing his half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Cruz has Kirov up against the cage in a clinch.

Cruz jumps into guard, dragging Kirov to the mat.
Kirov wants to control from the top but Cruz keeps moving.
Kirov postures up and lands a big shot to Cruz's brow.

Cruz has momentary wrist control but Kirov slips an elbow through the middle.

Kirov stops Cruz from standing up.

Kirov decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Kirov swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kirov fails to land the takedown.

Kirov forces Cruz back against the cage and clinches.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cruz is trying to pull guard but Kirov has him pressed against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kiro Kirov will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Kirov looks to land a combination but Cruz avoids it well.
Cruz is looking to counter the offense by Kirov and move into the clinch.
Kirov misses with a kick to the body.
Kirov throws a sloppy head kick and Cruz moves out of range easily.
Kiro Kirov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cruz shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

and Cruz counters with a three punch combo that has Kirov backing up. Kirov nods at Cruz to acknowledge the strikes.

Kirov has taken the fight to the clinch.

Kirov pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cruz shoots in for a takedown but Kirov shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cruz jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kirov walks away with a smile on his face. Cruz gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Kirov darts in and clinches Cruz up against the cage.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kirov holds on and takes a little breather.
Cruz postures up in Kirov's guard and throws a big left but Kirov blocks it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Cruz sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ezequiel Cruz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kirov throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cruz was covering up waiting for the punch and Kirov finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Cruz wants to get back to his feet but Kirov passes into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Cruz tries to get to full guard but Kirov has control of the leg.
Cruz wants to get back to his feet.
Kirov wants to stand up but Cruz is controlling the position.
Cruz wants to improve his position but Kirov is controlling well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kirov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cruz doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kirov.
Kirov stalling away here and it's allowed Cruz to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kiro Kirov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Kirov drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Cruz dives on top into guard.

Kirov tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cruz swivels and escapes.

Cruz closes the distance and clinches.

Kirov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Cruz pulls guard successfully.

Cruz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kirov defends it easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Cruz looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Kirov passes into half guard.
Cruz is not content to let Kirov control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Kirov is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Cruz still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Cruz has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Cruz stands up and beckons Kirov to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kirov.

Ezequiel Cruz showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Kirov has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
