Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dutch Schaeffer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edwin Kjaer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A chopping leg kick lands by Kjaer.

Schaeffer fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kjaer sprawls well initially but Schaeffer persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Schaeffer goes for a takedown attempt but Kjaer pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Kjaer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Schaeffer decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Schaeffer is pressing down on Kjaer's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kjaer is holding on for now.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dutch Schaeffer. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Schaeffer drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Schaeffer throws a strike aimed at the side of Kjaer's head but Kjaer avoids it well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A close round but Edwin Kjaer will probably get the nod.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kjaer is letting Schaeffer control him for a moment.
Kjaer wants to control but Schaeffer postures up.

Schaeffer remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Kjaer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Schaeffer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Schaeffer is trying to control the action in half guard but Kjaer is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dutch Schaeffer will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Schaeffer shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Schaeffer stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Kjaer takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Schaeffer crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kjaer - the referee stops the clock and Schaeffer gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kjaer. Schaeffer manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Kjaer feints and then cracks Schaeffer's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Schaeffer down.

Schaeffer's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Schaeffer jumps guard and drags Kjaer to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Schaeffer is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Schaeffer's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Kjaer stalling away here and it's allowed Schaeffer to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Schaeffer had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kjaer is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Schaeffer Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kjaer's back instead.
Schaeffer is trying to control but Kjaer is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Dutch Schaeffer just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dutch Schaeffer showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Schaeffer has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
