Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kurt Wagner (ranked 4970 p4p, 484 weight class) and Dreamier Panda (ranked 7016 p4p, 706 weight class). Wagner comes into the arena with No Easy Way Out blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wagner throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Panda has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Panda checks a leg kick nicely.
Wagner looks to clinch

and Panda counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Panda not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Wagner is looking to control Panda's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wagner avoid being mounted?
Panda wants to pass to mount but Wagner is defending the position.

Panda is looking for a kimura here.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Panda is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Panda should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Wagner is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Panda defends well.

Wagner working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Panda doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Panda manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Panda has gone for a leg lock! Wagner slips out almost immediately though and dives into Panda's guard.

Panda really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wagner. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Panda seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Wagner is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Wagner got a little sloppy there for a moment and Panda has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wagner has managed to get both his arms back between Panda's legs - danger averted.
