Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sambulo Yeboah (ranked 667 p4p, 34 weight class) and Peter Smith (ranked 3474 p4p, 169 weight class). Yeboah kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Lionel Richie - All Night Long. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Peter Smith enters the cage!

The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Ren Mimura.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yeboah swings for the body but Smith moves out of range.
And Smith responds with a good body kick, but Yeboah manages to step out the way in time.
Smith takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Smith takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Yeboah dodges the punch combination from Smith.
Smith looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Yeboah cracks a nice hook into Smith's ribs.
Yeboah jabs Smith right on the nose. Smith blinks but takes it well.
Yeboah fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Yeboah tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Smith's coach down at The Takeover was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Smith's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

The fighters circle momentarily. Yeboah darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Smith misses with an uppercut. Yeboah saw that one coming.
Smith swings for the body but Yeboah moves out of range.
That kick from Yeboah tenderised Smith's leg. Smith is trying to keep his angry face on.
Smith takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Yeboah paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Yeboah tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
And Smith tries to counter it with a takedown but Yeboah pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Yeboah throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Yeboah closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Yeboah is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Smith fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Yeboah has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Yeboah cracks Smith with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Yeboah is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Yeboah avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Smith does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

and Yeboah makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Yeboah moves away from the strike by Smith.
Yeboah uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Smith has time to react.
Yeboah is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Yeboah lands with an uppercut that bounces Smith off the cage and back into range.
Smith tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Yeboah was well out of range. Poor timing from Smith.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Yeboah.
As Yeboah backs off Smith throws a huge counter combo but Yeboah manages to avoid it all.

Yeboah was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sambulo Yeboah really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Urban Fighter logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
