Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aaron Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bayden Wood!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Dmitry Maklakov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith stuns Wood with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Wood connects with a jab.
Smith throws a right hand that Wood ducks under and follows up with a left that Wood also avoids with ease.
We've been told by Smith's head coaches at Malmi Aitta that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Smith lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Wood thows a leg kick but Smith checks it
and Wood takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Wood throws a left and a right that both miss
and Smith counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Wood avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Wood's coach down at Hardpunch (13 Elite / 1000$ was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Wood's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Smith uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Wood.
Wood misses with a shot to the body
enabling Smith to counter with a crisp jab.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Smith lands a left and a right that send Wood crashing to the mat, dazed. Smith thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Smith connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Smith jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Bayden Wood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith looks to land a left hand but Wood moved out of range nicely.
Wood thows a leg kick but Smith checks it
and Smith counters with a straight right hand.
A slow jab from Smith misses its intended target.
Smith cracks Wood with a good jab.
Smith connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Wood momentarily.


Wood is rocked!
Wood loads up on a big right hand but Smith slips the punch.
A jab from Smith misses.
Smith jabbing away but nothing is landing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wood looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Wood takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Smith misses with a series of wild punches.
Smith wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Smith misses with a double jab.
Wood steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Smith.
Smith keeps the fight on the outside.
Smith takes a swing at Wood's ribcage but misses.
Smith misses with a hook.
Wood wants to clinch.
Nice shot lands for Smith.
Wood ducks right into an uppercut from Smith.
Smith is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wood takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Smith listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Wood throws a leg kick
and Smith counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Smith cracks Wood with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Smith ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Smith lands a really nice looking cross but Wood seems unphased.
Wood takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Good shot there by Smith.
Wood tried to score with a low kick but Smith checks it.
Wood takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Wood moves away from the strike by Smith.
Smith throws an overhand right that drops Wood like a sack of potatoes! Smith dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Aaron Smith!
