PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Danger Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terrelle Pryor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pryor has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Danger Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Terrelle Pryor!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pryor closes the distance and clinches up with Joe, looking for a takedown. Pryor pushes Joe against the cage but Joe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Pryor looks gassed!

Pryor gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Joe pushing down on Pryor's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Joe tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Joe trying to control from half guard but Pryor is working away.

Joe decides to stand and escape the position.
Terrelle Pryor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Joe works over Pryor's head and body with a nice combination.
Joe is looking to clinch but Pryor is avoiding it.

Joe instigates a clinch.
Joe is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Pryor gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Joe pulls guard.

Joe had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pryor is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Joe Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pryor's back instead.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Joe working for a choke but Pryor is defending well.
Pryor breaks Joe's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Joe manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pryor manages to get himself to full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Joe has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Pryor is proving hard to escape from.
Joe wants to control from the top but Pryor keeps moving.
Joe wants to stand but Pryor has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Pryor looking for a sweep. Not yet Pryor, not yet.
Joe passes Pryor's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Pryor is not content to let Joe control the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Pryor has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Joe goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Pryor has his takedown stuffed

and Joe counters with a takedown into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Joe decides to stand back up. Joe steps back and let's Pryor get back to his feet.
Joe lands a jab-cross combination.

Pryor gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Joe gets to his feet - Pryor follows without any prompting.
Pryor misses with a takedown attempt

and Joe decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Pryor's guard.
Danger Joe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Terrelle Pryor.
Joe is looking to stand up but Pryor won't let him.
Joe passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Joe trying to control the position but Pryor is working away.
Pryor is looking for a sweep.
Joe advances to mount.

Joe is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Pryor has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Joe is standing up, even though he is in mount.

Joe looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Pryor!
Pryor is working to get back to half guard.

Joe stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Joe lands a jab-cross combination.
Joe doesn't manage to clinch there - Pryor circles away.
Joe fails in his attempt to clinch.
Joe tries for a takedown but Pryor sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Pryor working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Joe's head.
Joe wants to sweep here but Pryor controlling him for the moment.

Joe looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Pryor stops Joe from standing up.
Pryor looking to pass the guard.
Joe bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pryor's guard.
Pryor throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Joe stands up from Pryor's guard - Joe perhaps looking for a knockout.
Pryor misses with a takedown
and Joe counters with a series of strikes. Pryor will be more careful next time no doubt.
Joe lands a head kick!

Joe throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pryor's waist but Pryor gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Joe off to one side.
Pryor takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Joe scores with a nice head shot.
Joe lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Joe tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Joe fails with an attempt to clinch.
Joe misses with a head kick.
Joe tries to bum rush Pryor with a series of wild strikes but Pryor uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Joe is working the combinations to good effect here.
Joe throws a head kick that half lands.
Pryor shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Joe counters with a nice double leg into side control. Pryor won't be happy with that.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Joe wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pryor, who protects the arm well.
Pryor is trying to improve his position.
Joe controlling the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Joe stands up and beckons Pryor to his feet.
Joe lands a high kick!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Danger Joe dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Pryor takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Danger Joe overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Joe tries for a kimura but Pryor is defending well.

Joe stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Joe clinches up against the cage.

Pryor drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Pryor has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Joe is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Joe turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Joe manages to end up in side control.
Pryor regains half guard.

It looks like Joe is going to stand back up.
Pryor won't allow Joe to pass to mount.

Pryor is staying active underneath Joe, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Joe drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Joe jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Joe wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pryor keeps working.

Pryor is looking to regain half guard here but Joe keeps moving and retains side control.

Joe stands up and beckons Pryor to his feet.

Joe gets underhooks to prevent Pryor's takedown attempt.
Joe goes for a takedown in the clinch but Pryor prevents it.

Pryor is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Joe is keeping busy.
Pryor is pressed up against the cage. Joe has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Pryor down to the mat. Pryor avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Pryor takes a kick to the side of the head.
Joe misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Pryor gets a takedown into half guard.
Joe is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Joe moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Joe is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Pryor frees his head nicely. Oh but Joe has switched to an armbar! Pryor is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Danger Joe!
